Over the past two decades, Tel Aviv–Yafo has undergone significant change and development across many areas that directly affect the city’s residents and the services provided to them.
Since the 1990s, the city’s population has grown steadily, alongside an increase in its international population, including foreign workers and asylum seekers.
Tel Aviv–Yafo also has a distinctive demographic profile, with a higher proportion of residents aged 25–35, as well as those aged 65 and over, compared with the national average.
At the same time, the number of children living in the city has continued to rise.
As a city that never stops, Tel Aviv–Yafo is constantly evolving.
This growth has required the city to prepare for the needs of thousands of new families, young adults, and children across education, community services, culture, and other areas of urban life.
Considerable resources have been invested in developing these services and creating a modern infrastructure for community institutions that bring together culture, sports, leisure, and enrichment, strengthening community life throughout the city.
This is where the Company for Education, Culture and Neighborhood Renewal in Tel Aviv–Yafo, founded by the Jewish Agency and Jewish Federations of Canada – UIA, plays an important role.
